CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOTORONTO (Hatzoloh) - We are pleased to announce that Hatzoloh Toronto's Evening of Appreciation that took place on May 14, 2007 at the Paramount was a huge success.
With over 800 people in attendance, the evening began with a SAVE A LIFE SAVE A WORLD cocktail reception featuring foods of the world. Guests were then welcomed to dinner and enjoyed a presentation by our keynote speaker, The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada.
Representatives from Toronto and York Region EMS, Toronto police, Toronto Fire and the OPP were recognized for their assistance to Hatzoloh and the Toronto community. The Hatzoloh volunteers and Chief Bruce Farr of Toronto EMS were presented with plaques of appreciation to the applause of the crowd. Tribute was paid to the memory of Shmulik Reichmann, a"h. In addition, Rabbi Hershel Weber, the founder of Hatzoloh New York, the origin of all worldwide Hatzoloh organizations, attended the event. His contributions to the well being of Jewish communities around the world was also acknowledged.
The purpose of the Evening was to spotlight and show recognition to the devoted volunteers of Hatzoloh Toronto; the men and women who work tirelessly both in the forefront and behind the scenes, giving so generously of their time, effort and family life. Without their dedication, Hatzoloh could not exist.
Hatzoloh took the opportunity to honour the memory of Shmulik Reichmann a"h, who, as an active and devoted Hatzoloh responder during his lifetime, embodied the true spirit of the Hatzoloh volunteer. During the Evening, the establishment of a program was announced, in Shmulik's memory, that will provide CPR training courses for teens in Toronto's Jewish high schools, which, no doubt, will one day help save lives.
An award was also presented to Chief Bruce Farr of Toronto EMS, in recognition of the assistance and cooperation that he and Toronto EMS have provided Hatzoloh. Guests were treated to a video presentation showing Hatzoloh in action. All the guests left inspired by the wonderful work that Hatzoloh Toronto does.
We thank all those who participated in making the Evening as special and successful as it was.
